How can I do this with minimal effort and maximum impact?

After working with countless companies to develop and maintain a successful PPC campaign, we developed this quick step-by-step guide to help you get started. By following our recipe for success, you’ll be able to effortlessly optimize your account in no time.

Optimize for Impressions

  • Select the keywords tab
  • View the average campaign click-through-rate (CTR) and sort from lowest to highest
  • Pause all keywords with more than 500 impressions and below-average CTRs
  • Pause all keywords with zero impressions
  • Repeat for each campaign

Set Negative Keywords

  • Select the keywords tab
  • Select all broad match keywords
  • View the expanded keyword matches
  • Select all root keywords that are obvious mismatches
  • Enter them as negative keywords
  • Repeat for each campaign

Check Keyword Quality Scores

  • Select the keywords
  • Enter the view column that shows the quality score for the keyword
  • Sort the keywords from low to high
  • Pause keywords with a quality score lower than 6
  • Repeat for each campaign

Set Automatic Keyword Insertions

  • Select the Ads tab per AdGroup
  • Ensure there is at least one text ad with automatic keyword insertion set-up
  • Repeat for each campaign

Write Compelling Text Ads

  • Select the Ads tab per Adgroup
  • Ensure there is at least one text ad that accurately portrays your audience’s need (e.g. “Looking for a copywriter?” instead of “The best copywriter”)
  • Compare the performance of different text ad headlines and adjust accordingly
  • Repeat for each campaign

Pick a High Performing Landing Page

  • Select the Ads tab per Adgroup
  • Check the lading page availability and the landing page that you’re currently using with your text ad
  • Select an alternative and direct traffic to that page
  • Review performance once there are 100 clicks against your current conversion rate
  • Select the best performing landing page
    Repeat for each campaign
